I had a phone interview with a temp agency first, then another phone interview with BBT. After that, there was an in-person interview with the team. The interviews themselves were pretty basic, focusing on personality and my experience. The whole process to get to the phone and in-person interviews actually took longer than I expected. Also, the background and drug screen results took an extra 10 days to come back.

It started with a phone call from HR, then another phone interview with the hiring manager. After that, there was an in-person meeting with the hiring manager and his boss in Raleigh. If that went well, the next step was an in-person interview with the Line of Business folks in Winston-Salem. The final in-person interview was in Greenville with the head of IT. After all that, HR called to say they were getting the offer letter ready. Two weeks of back-and-forth emails and calls later, HR finally called to say that management had changed their minds and decided to go with another candidate, and apparently, HR didn't even know about this until the last minute. The whole thing felt really unorganized and unplanned from the start, with short notice for travel to Greenville and Winston-Salem, and they didn't even cover travel costs, so I paid out of pocket. The managers didn't seem to have my resume or know what job they were interviewing for, which speaks volumes about their talent management. It felt like they weren't looking for qualifications or talent, but rather someone who was just 'okay' or had connections. Honestly, the interview process felt like a setup just to tick boxes and say they interviewed people.

Then there was a personality test, reference checks, a drug test, and background checks. Finally, I got a phone call with the offer and was asked to come in and sign.
