Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bayview Asset Management.
Analyst
I went through several rounds of interviews, but unfortunately, I was ghosted and never received a rejection email. The people I spoke with were very nice and took the time to chat, and the technical questions were quite easy and basic. It seems like a great company, but this isn't the first time they've apparently ghosted candidates who were far along in the process, which feels pretty unethical.
- What motivates your interest in Bayview Asset Management?
Analyst
The first interview was a call where the interviewer briefly described the company's business but didn't go into detail about the specific role. We then moved quickly into discussing my background and some basic technical questions. I had a short time at the end to ask about the job, but the interviewer seemed hurried and not very engaged. If I had to do it over, I'd prioritize asking questions about the role and logistics upfront to gauge my interest in working at Bayview.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- How would you perform an analysis using an Excel spreadsheet?
Analyst
HR called me first, then the hiring manager did a phone screen. About a week later, I had a 1:1 interview.
- Could you discuss the advantages and disadvantages of a particular interpolation algorithm?
- Please answer some questions related to probability.
