I applied for the student job and heard back via email. After just one interview, I got the offer. They asked me about my past experience and my future aspirations, and also about my grades.

Behavioral Technical Case

The interview process was structured and professional. It started with an initial phone screening with a recruiter, followed by a technical/behavioral interview with a hiring manager. After that, I had a panel interview with a few team members where they asked situational and technical questions. The final stage was a discussion about company culture and expectations with a senior executive.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

So I had this interview with three interviewers and they asked me around 6 questions in about 30 minutes. The questions were all about teaching, research, and the university's mission statement. They really care about both research and teaching. And since it's a Christian university, they also wanted to know about my beliefs and how I'd support their mission and vision.

Behavioral Presentation

I put in my application online. After about three weeks, I followed up with HR because I really wanted the job. They told me about the benefits, the opportunities, and the Christian environment. Then, they said I was moving on to a panel interview, which was via Zoom. I spoke with four nice people who were a mix of employees with different roles. I thought it went well, so I sent thank-you notes afterward. Since then, I haven't heard anything. I emailed the recruiter and HR to follow up, called and left two voicemails, and just kept waiting. After about a month and a half, you have to assume they've gone with someone else, which is fine. We were all hoping someone would get the job, and I want the right person hired, even if it's not me. I'm just disappointed that the opportunity to finish well was wasted. Baylor could have let us know we weren't chosen in a kind and honest way. Maybe there was a good reason like COVID, being short-staffed, or something else, but they didn't. I hope this review encourages Baylor to do better.
