Summer Analyst
It was a fun, relaxed process. I spoke with 5 different people, from HR folks to VPs. Be ready with a space you're interested in and a startup you can defend within it.
- Tell me about a space that interests you currently, and a company within that space that catches your eye.
- What is a space you are interested in right now?
- What is a company in this space that interests you?
Analyst
I had a long writing task for the application, then there were two rounds of interviews. The first round was an informal coffee-chat, it was poorly structured and had leading questions. The interviewer arranged the meeting in a coffee-shop, which gave a non-professional impression. Later rounds were at their office.
- Can you describe what you look for in SaaS cashflows?
Analyst
The interview was pretty easy, they asked some behavioral questions about my experience and why I was interested in Battery Ventures. There was one technical question, which I think I really messed up. The interviewer was looking for three key metrics for a PE firm to consider for a portfolio company.
- What are 3 metrics important for a PE firm to look at for a portfolio company?
