So, first, we'll have a quick chat on the phone to see if you're a good fit overall. If that goes well, we'll bring you in for an interview, which could be in person or virtual. During the interview, we'll ask some behavioral questions, give you some technical challenges, and maybe even do some role-playing to check out your skills and if you'd fit in with the team. After that, you'll just have to wait to hear back from us about whether we're moving forward with a job offer or not.

I got a call about the design consultant job about a week after I applied. I went to the store and they had me meet with the store manager and the general manager. They were both really nice and asked standard sales-type questions. The interview went great. It's been about a week since I interviewed and I haven't heard anything back yet. I don't have prior sales experience, but they seemed to be looking for folks who are hardworking and ready to put in the effort to learn and do well.

Behavioral Technical Other

I sent my resume and got called back within a few hours. The hiring manager said the GM was out of town and would be back July 8th for an interview. I went in, and the interview happened in the middle of the store with people around. After that, I was told the district manager, Anthony, would interview me and get the results from my online assessment, which I thought was just a profile but turned out to be a 4-hour, 6-section test. The first three sections were a detailed psychological profile with confusing questions designed to mix you up, asking the same thing multiple ways. Then there was a math test with algebra I hadn't seen in ages, followed by a math problem-solving section with number patterns and word problems like train speed scenarios. The last part was a analogies section. I never heard from Anthony, so I contacted the manager who interviewed me, but she never responded. Nine days later, I got a generic rejection email. That 4-hour assessment felt harder than graduate school tests. I'm wondering if I can legally see my assessment results and scores. My time felt wasted with Bassett Furniture, waiting over a week for an interview, taking a misleading 4-hour assessment, and then getting no response from Anthony or follow-up on my emails, just a generic rejection. I'm not impressed with their ethics or testing policies and want my test scores.
