The hiring manager will check if you have your Pharmacy Assistant license. If you have it, you'll likely get the job, assuming no one else is interviewed before or after you. Without a license, you can't work in the pharmacy immediately, so you probably won't get hired.

I first applied online for this position back in late 2014 and got a quick call for a phone interview. The HR person told me I seemed to have everything they were looking for and that the next step was an interview with the hiring manager. However, after a few weeks of silence, which I chalked up to the holiday season, I followed up in the new year. It turned out the HR person had moved on and nobody had any record of our interview. The job opened up again in 2018, and I reapplied. This time, I was given several "one-way interview" questions, which I usually avoid because they don't allow for feedback and aren't a good way to do business. But, because I had such high respect for Bartell at that point, I went ahead with it. Then... nothing. I was ghosted, with no updates on next steps and no response to my emails asking about my application status. I later found out they hired someone much younger than me, leading me to believe age discrimination played a role.

I submitted my CV, resume, and application which clearly stated my work history and school rotations. The DM called the next business day and invited me for an in-person interview, asking my preferred location between Everett and North Seattle. I chose Everett, booked a flight, and prepared for the interview using Glassdoor and other resources, creating an eight-page document of potential questions. I also proactively viewed apartments in Everett. When I flew to Seattle, I spent a day in Everett checking out the pharmacy, apartments, and the city. The next day, I interviewed at Bartell Drugs Headquarters. I arrived early and waited 20 minutes. The interviewer, the same person from the phone call, focused on my lack of PAID intern experience during the first few questions, despite my clearly identified school rotations. She boasted about her own accomplishments. Then she asked what I knew about the company. I shared basic information and how I took the initiative to visit the Everett location. She then revealed the position was for a floater, not specified in the application or phone call, and that the company only guarantees 32 hours a week and pays on the lower end. When asked for feedback, she said I interviewed well but wished I had more experience. Overall, I wasted time and money flying during the Christmas season for an interview that seemed poorly prepared, as the DM should have reviewed my CV and identified my lack of paid intern experience and clarified the floater position and hours beforehand, allowing me to decline the interview.
