First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Barnardo's.
Store Associate
It was pretty chilled and relaxed. Two recruiters were on Zoom, one asking questions and the other taking notes. The interview lasted about 25 minutes and they asked around ten questions, including queries about my availability and if I can work Sundays.
- Can you tell me about a time you've been aware of diversity and how you've incorporated it into your life or workplace?
- Regarding your availability, are there any restrictions?
- Are you able to work on Sundays?
Store Associate
I applied online on the company website. I got an email confirming an interview and was told to choose a date on their website. After the interview, I got a phone call with an offer. The whole process from applying to getting an interview took about a month, and then from the interview to the phone call offer took another week.
- How would you handle specific scenarios?
- Could you tell me where you live?
- What are your fundamental beliefs and values?
Store Associate
Interviewed by Area Manager and a store manager was present taking notes. They described the job role to me, hours etc. Asked my flexibility as overtime is available. Asked a bit about previous experience and important - research their values and morals as a company as they will ask you what you know about them. Asked about holidays booked, notice period and training.
- What do you know about Barnardo's, or why do you want to work for us?
- Can you tell me about a difficult situation you've faced and overcome in a previous job?
