The interviews were conducted both online and in person. It started with an initial get-to-know-you session, followed by an on-site visit where I had to discuss a use case. The process concluded with another online conversation.

The process was multi-stage. It began with a recruiter call, followed by an evaluation test, then an interview with the hiring manager, and concluded with a longer case study. It was a pretty standard process, but the actual job duties were different than what was advertised in the posting.

Behavioral Case Presentation

I went through 5 interviews with 9 people from the hiring team, from senior consultant up to partner. It took 3 months. It included competency interviews, a 2 hour case study, and finally an interview with 2 partners. I got positive feedback throughout and the recruiter even said I was almost guaranteed the job. After 2 weeks of waiting, I was told there was no business case. This was frustrating after investing so much time and energy, especially since I only got positive feedback and didn't learn anything. I don't understand how it took 6 hours of interviews over 3 months to realize there wasn't a business case for a consultant role, especially when I spoke to partners who should know about staffing.

  • Given a case study, I had 1 hour to prepare and present my answers and presentation to the interviewers.
