Behavioral Presentation

I was contacted by the company for an interview and received an email with information. I did some research and saw negative comments about their honesty. I told the recruiter my needs and that I wanted a one-on-one. After two emails, they finally called back, promising a one-on-one after the initial overview and assuring me it wasn't pure commission. I agreed to attend. However, the branch manager said only he could set up one-on-ones. After I emailed the contact, he gave me a one-on-one and was polite. But, he only offered a pure commission role with no flexibility. They want you to be an independent contractor but assign hours. It's ridiculous and takes advantage of people with no sales experience. I said I'd only work on a salary/commission program and declined. I told him their hiring practices were deceptive and sent him the emails proving the bait and switch. He blamed the recruiting company, but I think he knows and condones these practices. There's a lot of concerning information online about this company. They talk about integrity but lack it. Stay away! You'll pay for your own expenses, training, and gas, and give a large portion of your money for overhead. If you leave, you'll owe them money, especially in the first year, as the contract is one-sided and they won't let you see it upfront. You need a lot of money to start in the insurance business on straight commission. I was glad my eyes were open due to the postings and a past bad experience, so I didn't get caught in this industry.

I got a call last week about a sales position, but told the caller I wasn't interested. The next day, someone else called and said they were looking for managers and asked if I'd interview. I agreed, and this morning got a courtesy call to remind me of my appointment, which I confirmed I'd attend. When I arrived, there were three other people there. Upon entering, I was asked if I was there for the career presentation. I stated I was there for an interview. The person who greeted me seemed flustered, said the person we were supposed to meet wasn't there, and that we needed to contact someone else to reschedule. I'm not rescheduling after taking time off and rearranging my schedule. I contacted the recruiter to remove my name from consideration.

We had a seminar first, then a questionnaire to screen candidates. After that, we had a session to question the remaining candidates further and discuss their goals. The final stage was a 1:1 interview. The first two steps were mainly for filtering candidates.
