First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bankers Life.
Insurance Agent
I was contacted for an interview with Bankers Life. When I arrived, there were over 20 people at the first meeting, which was actually a seminar. After that, I had a second interview where the onboarding process was explained. My only concern is that the course and exams seem rushed, requiring a lot of cramming and memorization if you don't have prior insurance sales experience.
- What is your motivation and what drives you?
Insurance Agent
The first interview was a group presentation over Zoom, which was charismatic and informative. Then, the second interview was face-to-face and seemed like a supportive group. The role involves insurance sales strictly on commission, so it might take 2-4 years to see significant income results.
- What are your career aspirations?
Insurance Agent
I'm new to the full-time job world and was interviewing for other positions simultaneously. I wanted to give each company a fair chance and find my passion, which is digital marketing. Ultimately, I felt pressured into this role and was told the pay was good for the hours and that I'd make easy money. That hasn't been the case; as a new agent, I feel like I'm still recouping my training and resource costs, and I have to use uncomfortable and forceful sales tactics to book appointments. This career path isn't for me personally.
- What's your reason for not wanting to be successful and make money?
