I was emailed about a phone interview for the next day. The phone call felt scripted, like she was just reading from a paper. I didn't feel heard. When I brought up compensation, it turned out to be commission-only with NO BASE PAY. I explained I have a family to support and can't rely just on commission. She just said 'ok' and hung up.

I got a call after sending my resume, and the first interview was a presentation in front of a group. Then we had to fill out a form with questions. They said they'd look at them carefully and only pick a few for a second interview, which I got. They called me to set it up. When I got there, I had to wait almost an hour after my appointment time for the person to see me. I almost left. The whole time they acted like it was a privilege to even talk to them and to work there (for a commission-only job), but they made me wait an hour like I had nothing else to do. After the interview, which had the usual questions, they called me the next day and offered me the agent position, but I declined. The main reason was the overall impression I got during the hiring process. I figured it would be oppressive to work there. Also, since they made me wait so long, I could hear other agents getting rejected when calling leads, even though they claimed they have tons of people wanting to talk to you! I later found out that only the top people get those leads, and everyone else gets the leftover leads that didn't work out. I also learned later that someone else got hired who was so unqualified, even they couldn't believe they got the job, which just proved to me they'll hire anyone for commission-only and act like it's a huge honor.

Presentation Behavioral

So the first interview was more like a presentation about the company and what they do, and it was in a group setting. I really liked it 'cause I felt like Banker's is a company that really wants to help people. After that, I had a one-on-one with the branch manager. I felt pretty comfortable and welcomed, like I wasn't being judged. The hiring process is a bit intense, with a lot of legal documents to get through because insurance is super regulated. You have to understand and accept that.
