Compensation Analyst
After applying for the job, a recruiter reached out for an initial phone screening. My info was then passed to the hiring manager, who I talked with on the phone a couple of weeks later. We had a nice chat, and he gave me more details about the job and seemed really interested in my background. A couple of weeks after that, I had a second phone interview with his manager. This conversation was similar to the first one, and I got to learn more about the company and what the department is trying to achieve, like where this role fits in. After a few more weeks, I was invited for a third interview, this time in person at the Charlotte office. The office looked great, very modern. I got there a bit early and was offered a drink. The third interview was more like a casual conversation, and I left feeling like it'd be a great place to work. The people there seemed friendly, motivated, and engaged. The recruiter was super helpful throughout everything, sending confirmation emails and clear instructions so I knew how to prepare and make a good impression.

Business Consultant
The interview process for this role was pretty standard. It involved questions about my experience, what I knew about the industry, and specifically about Bank of America Merchant Services. They also asked about how I handle decision making, teamwork, and general personality traits. The initial interview went on for over an hour. Following that, about a week later, I had two more phone interviews, each around 30 minutes long, with two important executives in the company. After that, there was a background check and then an offer was extended.

Sales Manager
The process with BAMS is AWFUL!!! Long drawn out and lots of gaps in communication. I did a phone interview 2 weeks after applying. I was told I'd be moving on and after over a week of waiting I asked "What was the next step?" No response and 3 more weeks later a month waiting I get a call for a in person interview. I wasn't expecting it because a month had passed and no one ever responded to me. The interview went well and the manager said he would call me back. It sounded great at the time if only he actually did it in the time frame promised and was clear of why he was calling. Just a simple rejection email if you didn't get a job is all people need. Yet leaving someone hanging 2 weeks as they followup multiple times to hear the hiring manager is going to call them. Then when the call is made they want to offer a lower level position instead shows a lack of respect. You see I interviewed for the Regional Sales Manager Position. The hiring manager had me waiting for a call from him to offer me a Sales Rep opportunity. I never one time said I would be willing to make a move for that opportunity. If I wanted the position I would've applied for it. If he had it in mind he should've alluded to it in the interview. I respectfully declined and that's a lot more respect than offered to me. I try to be fair but really it left a horrible taste in my mouth and bad reflection of Bank of America Merchant.

Sales Representative
The interview process was pretty relaxed and didn't feel stressful at all. I was in a room on a really nice floor. The managers were super professional, which helped me feel at ease throughout the whole thing. I appreciated being welcomed like that. They asked all the standard interview questions, and then one manager hit me with a curveball: 'If you were a tree, what kind would you be and why?' That one caught me off guard a bit.
- What kind of tree would you be, and what's the reason behind your choice?
