Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bancroft.
Program Manager
The interview process started off well, but then after I made it to the third round of interviews, I stopped hearing from them. It wasn't until I sent them two separate emails over a few weeks that they let me know I wasn't selected for the position. This was all a bit confusing, especially since they had told me in a previous interview that I was the only candidate left. I can understand them choosing to go in a different direction, but the sudden loss of contact and the mixed messaging was very frustrating.
- What motivates you to want to work at Bancroft?
Program Manager
HR reaches out to schedule your interviews after you pass the initial screening. There were 2 rounds and a panel interview. They focus on the STAR METHOD to evaluate how you handle crises. The manager seemed a bit inexperienced during our breakfast meeting.
- Can you describe your approach to time management?
Program Manager
Before the interview, there was a computer personality test with 111 questions. This test gives interviewers insights into your personality and helps them tailor their questions. The interview itself went really well. We had a really engaging conversation about the job and what the role entails. I left the interview feeling really excited about the opportunity. I was offered the job, but I had to decline because the compensation was lower than I was looking for. I tried to negotiate, but they weren't able to increase their offer.
- You are given a paper with a scenario about a problem that happened in one of the homes and you have to write how you would respond to that situation.
