The interview process began with an online interview where I had to answer 6 questions using my computer and webcam. The second interview consisted of a typing test and an Excel test, also conducted via webcam and online software, with a total of 6 questions. After the second interview, I was informed that they had found more qualified applicants. It's frustrating because I have many years of experience as an onboarding rep, and I suspect it might have been an age issue, as you can't hide your age on camera, rather than a skills issue. The company seems very young, and it's tough to get jobs with companies that tend to hire younger employees.

The HireVue interview was okay. It had some timed questions and a small excel project. But the real negative experience was when I interviewed with a person. BambooHR says they have good values and culture, but interviewing with the hiring manager was super impersonal. They didn't try to connect or talk. It was 45 mins of questions, they'd say 'Okay, thank you' and go to the next one. I knew then I didn't want to work for that manager. I didn't get an offer, which is fine. I get asking hard questions, but being human while doing it matters a lot.

The interview process felt casual and comfortable. I liked that they approached it as, 'let's get to know each other and see if this is a good fit for both of us.' Usually, I feel a lot of pressure and that I have to prove myself, so it's nice when the company also puts in effort to show they're a good fit for me. I've had 4 interviews so far, so it's been a bit of a long process, but because it's low-pressure, it's been enjoyable and fulfilling.
