Marketing
I heard BambooHR has a great culture, but I was let down by their interview process. After I got through the first round, my second interview was canceled just a few hours before it was supposed to start. Then I was told they were pausing hiring for the role. About a month later, they said they were rearranging things internally and wouldn't be hiring for the position anymore. I have no complaints about the talent team, but the whole experience was really frustrating.

So you fill out some basic info online, then you get an automated email with a link to HireVue. It's this video interview thing where you see video prompts and have a limited time to answer. I thought it would be a good way to screen people fast, but wow, I was wrong. The HireVue software itself is really bad. It doesn't feel intuitive or look good, and they don't use the space well. Plus, it's totally robotic. They make you get a webcam and mic, learn about the company, and do it all in three days. And you don't even know if a real person looked at your stuff because you only get automated emails. It's all so unclear. You do the HireVue, then what? Does an algorithm judge your posture? Does someone watch your first answer and decide? You can't see your own answers or get feedback, so it's a total mystery. And there's no talking to anyone. After doing all that and getting rejected by email, I asked for feedback. Anything would've been fine, but getting no response at all really sucked, especially after all that.
- Can you introduce yourself?
Marketing
I had a video interview, then a phone interview. After that, I interviewed in person with the online marketing manager. We didn't finish that day, so we scheduled another chat in the office. Then, the marketing team took me to lunch. Finally, my new manager took me and my wife to lunch, and I got the offer. I accepted the next day. It was a great experience. They really make sure they hire the right people, so if you get hired, you'll have a fantastic team. The interviews were friendly and the questions weren't too hard, just thorough enough to check my experience and if I'd fit the culture.
- Tell me about how you've grown and expanded your successes in past roles.
