The interview process started with a phone call, followed by an in-person interview at the workplace. There was one interview conducted in person and another conducted via computer using facetime. It was a weird interview experience. Many questions were asked where answering honestly might lead to negative feedback. It felt like a standard DWS interview but with more questions focused on negative experiences, like asking about times I had a bad experience or disliked something. The questions seemed designed to elicit negative responses, and I feel I really didn't perform well. I wasn't on top of my game, possibly due to a two-hour drive through a windy canyon that made me car sick, combined with my nervous stomach. The results were disastrous, with a pounding headache and rolling stomach, my interview training went out the window. I'm naturally honest, so it was hard to remember not to give true answers, like preferring to give real-life situations or true answers such as being too generous or being a worrier, instead of the expected generic answers like 'loving chocolate' for a worst quality. I was told I'd hear back the next day, but I haven't heard anything since bombing the interview. It's a bummer since I spent $50 on fuel and travel for the two-hour drive, which is significant for an unemployed single parent. A call, text, or anything would have been nice, but I could tell they weren't interested during the interview, so I wasn't expecting to hear back. It would have been good to get some feedback from the HR person or explain that I wasn't feeling well at the time. Overall, I lost money, but I did gain more interviewing experience, so it wasn't a complete loss. I believe it's their loss because with my education and experience, I could have excelled in the position. Looking back, I coulda, woulda, shoulda, but next time I'll be better prepared.

So after I applied, they had me do this HireVue thing, which is like an online video interview where you record yourself. You get a little time to prep your answer before recording, but you only get one shot at it, no do-overs. After that, I went in for an onsite tour and met with the hiring manager and some of the team. Then I had another interview with the CFO and the HR Director. They made an offer, and I had a couple days to think about it. The whole thing was pretty quick, only took a few weeks, and they have some pretty slick HR software. The interviews themselves felt really relaxed and genuine.

They had me do some quizzes and then a few rounds of interviews to make sure I was in the right department. I liked that they were upfront about everything. The salary they offered wasn't what I was looking for, so I decided not to take the job.
