Product Manager
I applied online. The whole process took 3 weeks. It started with a recruiter screening (15 mins), then an hour assessment, followed by a 45 mins chat with the hiring manager. After that, there was a 2 hrs panel interview and finally a 30 mins CEO interview. They first offered me 132k which was pretty low for the industry. I countered asking for 150k and they said they could get close to it. Unfortunately, it didn't work out because they don't sponsor visas. You should really ask about sponsorship needs in the application or screening to avoid wasting time.

My interview experience with Balto was fantastic! Everyone was so welcoming, the conversations felt natural, and they communicated really well and quickly. It felt like a genuinely human process, unlike others I've encountered. It was definitely more rounds than usual. First, I had a casual 30-minute chat with the Talent Acquisition Specialist. Second, I met with the direct supervisor for an hour, which also involved a skills challenge I had 48 hours to prep for – a timed design exercise that I actually found quite fun. Third, there was a 1-hour "podcast-style" interview with the Talent Specialist and Supervisor. Fourth, I had a 30-minute meeting with the Head of Content. Fifth, a 30-minute culture chat with the COO. Everyone I met was wonderful. I actually ended up having a sixth interview because a new senior team member joined during my process. Although I got an offer, I had to make a tough choice to accept another one. I'd still highly recommend applying to Balto; their company culture felt refreshing, authentic, and really special.

Implementation Manager
The interview process with Balto was really good. I got connected with a super skilled recruiter who totally got my industry background. It felt like a natural flow through the 5 interview rounds. First up was a standard HR chat to get acquainted. That was a great conversation! After that, I did a cool role-play simulation from a client's perspective, where I had to gather technical system details for a specific objective, which really tested my time management and client communication skills. The third round involved a podcast-style discussion with my potential manager and some HR folks. Then, I had a conversation with the CTO/co-founder about our shared philosophies on customer service and management. The last step was discussing compensation and benefits. All in all, the process felt efficient and adaptable. Everyone was genuinely nice, smart, and helpful, giving the whole thing a human feel and offering great insights into the company culture.

Customer Success Manager
The interview process had four video stages: first, a recruiter screen, then a one-on-one with the Director of CS, followed by a meeting with both the Recruiter and the VP of CS, and finally, a one-on-one culture interview with a founder. The process was okay until the end. After completing all four interviews, which took about 3-4 hours in total, my references were contacted. This is where things went downhill. Despite providing references quickly and them being contacted before noon on Friday, I didn't hear back by Wednesday. I reached out to the recruiter, and after no response, contacted the Head of Talent who apologized and promised a decision the next morning. The following day, I received a rejection email that seemed somewhat canned, stating they found candidates with more direct experience. While this reason is understandable, discovering this so late in the process felt like a waste of time and seemed questionable since they had already contacted my references. Furthermore, not even receiving a call after going through the entire process was very disappointing. My guess is they were deciding between me and another candidate and waited to finish interviewing the other person. While I understand losing out sometimes, the lack of transparency was disheartening and means I won't consider this company in the future.
