Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bally's Interactive.
Front End Developer
I applied online and got an interview invite immediately. First, I had a chat with a recruiter who was nice and we talked about the job, my salary expectations, and the company. Then, I got an email for a technical and hiring manager interview on the same day, from 2pm to 4pm. I only ended up having one interview with the team lead. It was supposed to be a code challenge, but the tool link they sent didn't work. They denied my request to use my own code editor, so the interviewer started asking random React and JS questions on the fly. The hiring manager interview didn't happen because he was unavailable. Later, I got rejected via email for not explaining concepts in enough detail. I wasn't expecting a conceptual interview; they said it would be a code assessment. While I understand the importance of knowing concepts, I would have prepared differently if I'd known.
- Could you tell me about React hooks?
- What is memoization?
- Can you explain javascript curry?
Front End Developer
The interview process starts with a phone chat where we go over typical questions and answers. After that, there's a face-to-face meeting with two Senior Developers. The office is in a super handy spot near Piccadilly Circus, and the headquarters has lots of meeting rooms decorated with themes from Gamesys' games.
- Can you describe your approach to problem-solving?
- What is your thought process for tackling a problem?
Senior Frontend Developer
Had a telephone interview first, it was about 30 mins. After that, I had a Skype chat with 3 team members, which lasted for about an hour. During the chat, they asked me general Javascript and front end related questions. The vibe was pretty chill and friendly.
- Can you explain Redux in your own words?
