Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bakers Delight.
Sales Assistant
It was a general and casual phone interview where they asked about my interests and practical stuff like how close I live to the workplace to ensure flexibility. Then, there was a short in-person interview (15-45 mins) to see if I was a good fit, covering work values, interests, days and times I could work, and my general character. Finally, a trial period where I learned to identify different breads, use the slicer, clean windows, and operate the cash register.
- Why do you think you're the best candidate for this job?
- What are your interests?
- How close do you live to the workplace?
Sales Assistant
I applied for this job by dropping off my resume at the store, and then I got an interview. They asked me questions like if I help out at home and about cleaning, and if I'm good with people. After working there for 2 months, they didn't want to pay me, saying I didn't work much, so my dad had to step in to help me get my wages.
- Tell me about your experience helping around the house.
- Are you good with people?
Sales Assistant
I applied in person at the store, then had a phone call, followed by a one-on-one interview at the store. They asked about my background, experience (though it's not crucial since they offer good training and this is my first job), and customer service skills. It was pretty chill. It'll help if you prepare and practice some interview questions yourself and learn a bit about the bakery and its products beforehand!!
- Could you tell me about three of your strengths?
- And what would you consider your weaknesses?
