First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Baker Tilly.
Consultant
The interview process was disorganized and slow. The recruiting team took over a week to respond after they said they would. They assumed I was applying for one location and ended the process without asking me why I applied for where the role was. The recruiter didn't seem to know what their practice did. I ended up giving up on the process.

I had two university interviews with them, one after the other. They were strictly behavioral and pretty easy. I thought I did well, but I never heard back from them at all. I had a pretty good opinion of the company and how competent they were before I interviewed. As time went on, I was never offered a company HR contact or any update on my application status. I interviewed twice and that was it. This makes me think the company either 1) doesn't care about its people (customers, employees, interviewees), 2) has really bad HR/Recruiting/PR and makes sloppy, amateur mistakes, or 3) the firm has generally poor leadership and doesn't give direction on decisions (like hiring) that employees need to make. In the end, I can say that my interactions with the interviewers were great, but the execution was bad and professionalism was missing.
- Can you share an instance where you and your manager had a disagreement?
- Describe a situation when you and your manager had differing opinions.

I applied online and about a month and a half later, I heard back to set up a phone interview with a Project Manager. The call went really well and lasted about an hour. It mainly covered my background and gave me a quick rundown of what the firm is aiming for and what new projects they have going on. About a week after that, I was invited to their Chicago office for more interviews. The day started with a group session in the morning, then I had 3 one-on-one chats with managers, and we finished with lunch at a nice place with a senior consultant and two other people interviewing. The interviews felt pretty relaxed and they seemed most interested in my background, my past experience, any other companies I was looking at, and how much I knew about their consulting division.
