Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Baker Tilly.
Audit Intern
The interview process was quite interesting. I wasn't really asked any substantive questions besides inquiries about my academic performance. It was a very conversational experience where I primarily directed the discussion, which made me a bit concerned they might have already reached a decision.
- Can you explain how you manage to maintain your grades?
Audit Senior
First, there was an interview with HR about expectations, doubts, and behavioral profile. Then, a second interview with the manager to assess technical knowledge, professional experience, and fit for the role's demands.
- Can you describe your current professional situation?
- Tell me about your academic background.
- What are your salary expectations?
Auditor
First, you'll submit your application with your resume and cover letter. After that, HR might give you a quick call or video chat to check your background and if you're qualified. Then, there might be some tests to see if you're good with numbers and accounting stuff. The first real interview is with a manager or auditor who'll ask you technical questions about auditing. You might also have a behavioral interview to see how you handle situations and if you're a good fit. In the second round, you could be in a panel interview with several people, asking more technical and behavioral questions. Some places might give you a case study to solve, like a real audit problem. Finally, you might meet with top leaders or partners to talk about your career goals and how you'd fit into the company culture.
- What is your goal, your strength, and your weakness?
- Can you tell me about your career aspirations, strengths, and areas for development?
