I applied online and first had to do an online questionnaire with basic customer service questions. Then I had a short phone interview. Lastly, I came in for a group interview and an individual interview. It was a pretty standard interview process with no challenging questions.
The process was easy and straightforward. I got a reply within a few days after applying. The phone interview was about 10 minutes long. The lady who called was really friendly. However, I didn't get to the face-to-face interview stage.
There were 5 of us in a room with 2 B&Q staff. First, we had to introduce ourselves, then do a five-minute presentation on your favourite B&Q product. They said you can read from a script if you didn't feel confident enough. After that, we were taken in for the interview, one on one by the two staff. I was called up first and they didn't really ask me any proper interview questions other than when can I start? Alarm bells started to ring when she said the interview was over soon after. I got a call a few days later to say I was unsuccessful, although I appreciated the feedback which so many companies do not provide.
