I applied online and was initially rejected, but Axios reached out to apologize and invited me to interview. First, there was a 30-minute call with an internal recruiter covering my background and experience, with time for my questions. Then, a 30-minute call with the hiring manager, who explained the role and company. Unfortunately, I was rejected by the internal recruiter after the manager call. Both the recruiter and manager were a few minutes late, and the manager seemed rushed, even saying she couldn't find my number initially and cutting my questions short. It felt unprofessional and biased, leaving me feeling objectified.
I talked to a recruiter about the job, but then got an email saying they chose someone else. The recruiter was nice and seemed to really know the role.
I applied online and then had a phone screen with the Talent Director, followed by another phone screen with the Hiring Manager. Axios has an amazing talent team who made sure I had what I needed for the following interview. The hiring manager did not ask any product questions and seemed like she was not engaged during the interview.
