Recruiter reached out on Linked In, and we exchanged a few messages to schedule the screening interview. It was pretty straightforward, covering the job, requirements, plans, interview process, and timelines.
The HR recruiter didn't seem to know what the hiring team was looking for in a candidate. It took them over two and a half months to schedule my interview with the hiring team after the initial HR screening, and they were really unresponsive during that time, not replying to multiple calls and emails checking on the status. When I finally interviewed with the hiring team, it turned out they also didn't have a clear idea of what they wanted in an applicant. It made for an uninspiring and demotivating interview experience, even though the people seemed smart. The work environment and company culture also felt uninspired and unmotivating.
It was a 2 round interview process. First round was with HR, and the second round was with the department manager. The department manager was not very friendly or welcoming during the interview, and the whole experience felt a bit strange because it was conducted over Zoom.
