I was contacted by a recruiter at Avalanche on Linkedin for a role that seemed like a good fit. The HR person was 5 minutes late for our scheduled interview, which, while a minor thing, made me feel like my time wasn't valued. The interview itself went okay, and I was told I'd hear back within two business days after they spoke with the hiring manager. But, five business days passed with no word, so I followed up. I never received a response. It felt unprofessional and like they didn't care about people's time.
The whole process involves 4 steps. First is an initial chat with HR. Then there's a tech test, which is a take-home assignment that usually takes 1-2 weeks to finish. After that, you'll have a tech discussion with the team, and finally a meeting with the producer to talk about the team. Just a heads up, the tech test is quite a bit of work, maybe too much if you're already working full-time.
After a number of interviews, this one really stood out as a good experience. The technical discussion was relevant and well-paced. I liked that we had an engaging interview and that the leaders I met were really honest and open. They were clear about both strengths and areas where there's room for improvement. It seemed like a great group of people.
