Candidate-reported interview process

The interview process included an initial phone interview, followed by an onsite interview where I met with five people. The discussions covered topics such as architecture, my past projects, and Agile methodologies. It was a very engaging experience overall. The primary focus was on assessing my ability to handle conflicts, negotiations, and collaboration with a technical team, especially in situations where I might not have all the answers.

The interview process at Audible was super organized, really the best I've seen. The recruiter was upfront about each step, and it all went as planned. It started with a recruiter phone screening, then one hour-long phone interview, followed by a 6-hour on-site panel with 5 interviews and a lunch break.

I had a phone screen with the recruiter and then with a subject matter expert. The SME's questions were really out there and didn't match up with how portfolio management actually works in big companies. He was reading from a script and looking for super specific answers. Some of his suggestions were wild, like a project manager should just reassign team members to another project or dismiss critical security issues as 'impossible to fix'.
