Atlassian Frontend Engineer interviews, decoded.

The first round was with Karat. The interviewer's accent was quite strong. The interview was divided into 3 parts: first a JS question, then HTML/CSS, and finally a JS fetch API question to get and decode data. Google search was allowed, but not AI.

I had a screen call with Atlassian's recruiter. Then I had two rounds of technical interviews on Karat, which were fairly straightforward. After that, I completed two rounds focused on machine and JavaScript coding — challenging but reasonable for a senior role. The system design round also went smoothly. Later, the recruiter told me I passed all rounds with strong results, but they couldn't move forward due to a hiring freeze and internal restructuring. Some time after, another recruiter said I was at the top of their list — but I never heard back.

It was 3 rounds for the front end role. The first round was a leetcode style test. The second round involved a technical interview where I had to make a front end component. The third round was a personality interview focused on Atlassian values.
