I went to a job fair and spoke with some school principals. I had emailed my resume to principals back in February. One principal invited me to a job fair that was invite-only at the beginning of May. I ended up waiting in line for over an hour to talk to a principal, and the actual interview was only about 10 minutes long. I got contacted by the principal again in late June to be offered the position at the school.
I had to do an online course, then fill out an application online. After that, I went to an orientation class, and then got fingerprinted. It took about three hours to do the whole thing if you had all the documents. You also needed a money order to pay for the fingerprinting.
I showed my portfolio of lesson plans and then filed an application with human resources.
