The interview process involved two phone interviews with management, followed by a 3-hour, multi-panel interview in Boston. The company arranged and paid for my travel and hotel in Cambridge. They reimbursed expenses for airfare, Uber, and meals after I submitted an expense report. The panels were engaged, though one female manager was notably adversarial.
It was a long process, I met with 5 people who had different roles and were from different teams. I feel like I got a good understanding of the job and the company culture. I made sure I had examples ready for projects that succeeded and ones that didn't. Since culture fit is important, I tried to be relaxed and connect with the interviewers.
I met a recruiter at a job fair. The whole process took over 10 weeks. My first phone screen got canceled and rescheduled a few weeks later. Then I had a phone interview with the hiring manager a couple of weeks after that. About a month passed, and then I had an onsite interview with 5 people. Two weeks after the onsite, the recruiter told me they decided to go with another candidate.
