It was about 3 to 4 rounds, which included a panel interview with product and engineering folks. Everyone was pretty nice and chill. They asked about my experience managing designers and engineers, and how I handle making choices between different priorities.
Had a very high-level chat on Zoom. They were unclear about the specific job duties and how much they pay. I got the impression it's a company with low margins, high pressure, a lot of internal politics, and focused on the short term. I likely wouldn't talk to them again unless the leadership changes.
I got this offer through a connection, and it involved one-on-one interviews with current PMs. It took them a week to get back to me with an offer, but then two months to send the contract. A week before I was supposed to start, they told me my team was moving to Tennessee and I could go with them, but I'd already made plans to be in San Mateo. This left me in a tough spot. I'm currently out of a job because of these changes, so I'm warning others applying because they seem non-committal and don't prioritize your interests.
