The interview process was pretty good, felt focused but still casual. This makes candidates more comfortable and helps the company see their natural behaviors, giving a better idea of how they'll perform. The recruiters seemed professional and enthusiastic about the company, which made it seem like a great place to work.
I found this job through my business school career services, so I got to talk to the hiring manager directly. We had a quick phone call, and he told me I'd be the last candidate they'd interview. Two days later, HR called to set up an in-person interview, which meant I had to travel (flight and hotel). They asked for 10 references ASAP, but because the timeline was so tight, I couldn't provide them. I met with about 5 or 6 people from different departments that the role would work with, for about 3 hours. A few of them said I'd be fine with the work, even though I'd never done anything like it before. They mentioned a decision would be made by the end of the week.
It started off pretty good with the interview process, very professional. I had four phone screens and then an onsite panel interview. Most interviewers used a shared document to ask behavioral questions, mostly about people management. I felt good about it. Then it got weird and unprofessional. I had to chase them for updates through emails and calls, but nothing. When I finally reached someone, they said they'd get back to me, and again, nothing. It's been over a month with no word. It's a shame because even if it's a no, I've already moved on, but it's bad when this happens in the job market. You'd think they'd at least keep candidates informed.
