Candidate-reported interview process

Had an informal chat with the senior editor based in the US. It was pretty relaxed, almost like a friendly talk. We chatted about potential new story ideas and my opinions on the existing newsletters.

I had a recruiter call first, then I interviewed with the hiring manager and the team manager. That interview was mostly behavioral questions, but they also asked about the technical aspects of my past projects. After that, I had a take-home data analysis assignment. Finally, I did a presentation and interviewed with a team member and a collaborator.

I had a first phone screening. At the end, the recruiter told me I was one of 3 candidates the hiring manager wanted to talk to via Zoom. After that initial chat, I never heard back. It was weird, and I thought I might have been scammed.
