Candidate-reported interview process

I got contacted by the hiring manager about a month after applying for an initial interview. It was pretty short and I was only asked a few questions, which I thought was odd. I felt like I nailed it otherwise, I was ready with answers and the HM seemed to like them. So I was pretty bummed to get rejected after the holidays. Guess you can do everything right and still not get it.

I applied online and heard back about two weeks later. Had a quick 15-minute call with the Hiring Manager. We talked about my project management background, why I'm interested in mission-driven organizations, my experience with project management tools, and working with diverse teams. I got a rejection email the week after.

The interview during my internship selection process was very friendly and comfortable. It allowed me to open up and talk about my experiences and skills which then allowed me to get the internship position.
