I had multiple one-on-one interviews with a consultant HR rep. They kept talking in circles about the job scope and responsibilities and said the next steps would take a very long time (15+ interviews and a full day with the CEO), which seems unrealistic. It felt like a waste of time since they clearly didn't have the budget to hire at that moment. They hired a CFO around the same time from a PE background and tried to make it sound positive, but it raised a lot of red flags. The organization seems to have too many people overthinking things and leadership with too much free time. I was ghosted after months of engagement.
The hiring process was really long, with tons of interviews all over the place. Even though I spent time getting ready for each one, it felt like the feedback didn't matter much. It seemed like the CEO made the final call, which made it unclear how candidates were actually evaluated and if the whole interview process was really for learning and getting everyone on the same page, or just going through the motions.
It was a two-round process, and both rounds were face-to-face. The first round covered basic to intermediate topics, while the second round delved into advanced topics requiring good knowledge.
