AREVA Software Engineer interviews, decoded.

The process is the same as with other nuclear companies: 1) interview with HR via Skype 2) interview with the unit manager for the position 3) mandatory administrative investigation of (2-3 months)

The interview process was actually quite pleasant. I was expecting a more challenging interview process with the usual irrelevant interview questions. Management seemed to know what type of engineer they needed and filtered candidates appropriately. The biggest challenge is reaching Lynchburg. Flight cancellations to/from Lynchburg are quite frequent. Be prepared for the unexpected when planning travel.

I talked to an HR person on the phone/email who was super nice and set up everything for the interviews, like my flights, car, and hotel. Then I had an interview with a group of engineers who were in supervisory roles. They asked me questions about my behavior and my resume for about 90 minutes. The questions weren't too hard, but they really dug into everything on my resume and wanted to hear my opinions on the projects I listed.
