I talked to a recruiter at a career fair who was super nice and told me a lot about the company. She set up an interview for the next week on campus. The second interview was just me and one other person and was supposed to be about 30 minutes. We started by talking about my transcripts and past work. Then, they asked me some standard S.T.A.R. questions. The whole thing felt pretty chill and like a regular conversation. At the end, I got to ask them questions about the company and what it's like to work there.
The process was poorly designed, they didn't map the desired profile well, and the process was cancelled halfway through, causing discomfort to participants and high costs for the company. There was a lack of adequate communication, good planning, and job sizing.
First, I met with my future manager, then another manager, and finally HR. There wasn't much technical stuff in the interviews, but they really focused on personality and work methods. HR was very focused on inclusion and diversity.
