Candidate-reported interview process

It was a really fast-paced process. Since I've always been a full-time employee before, the salary discussion came up and I wasn't prepared for questions about my healthcare and self-employment taxes. I just threw out a number I thought sounded reasonable for full-time work, but honestly, I wish I'd asked for more because I'd have to cover all my own benefits.

The initial stages of the hiring process were great. The team was responsive, and after two phone calls, I was invited for an interview. I felt it went really well and they asked me to come back to meet more people. But then nothing happened... they never followed up. I messaged them about when we'd schedule my second interview, and they still didn't reply. It felt really unprofessional. If they weren't interested anymore, they should have just said so!

I had a phone screen first, then there were two rounds of interviews onsite. The first was a one on one with the hiring manager, and then a group panel interview with different managers from other departments. I had to wait about a week between each step. After I got the offer, I started the job the next week.
