AppSumo Software Engineer interviews, decoded.

The interview process had six rounds and was pretty long but enjoyable, which I think is good. It started with a phone screen, then a Skype interview, followed by a coding challenge. After that, there was a team lunch, then an interview with the President, and finally, salary negotiations.

So, the interview process here at AppSumo started with an initial chat over Skype with Karry, then a technical Skype interview with Chandler. After that, I had to do a programming assignment over the weekend. The next step is the in-person interview at their HQ, and there might be a lunch with the President too. I'm currently at step 4, but both Karry and Chandler have been super welcoming, gave good feedback on the assignment, answered all my questions, and even showed me around and introduced me to everyone. They all seem like genuinely great people to work and hang out with.

Got a message from Noah on Reddit about the interview, which was unexpected. The process involves building a Node web app from the ground up with specific requirements. They'll evaluate this along with a couple of casual phone chats to make a decision.
