Candidate-reported interview process

I applied online and had an initial call with HR. After that, I had one telephonic round and then was invited for onsite interviews. The onsite involved 4 white board technical rounds, 1 manager round, and 1 round with both the Head of Engineering and Head of HR. My overall experience was average, and the recruiting HR was pretty poor at providing details about candidates and not very open to different positions.

I found the Principal Software Engineer role on Glassdoor and heard back from a recruiter within a week. We chatted about my background and what I'm looking for. The next day, I had a technical phone screen with some general tech questions and two coding challenges using an online tool. Right after that, they set up an onsite interview. It was pretty relaxed, mostly just talking about tech and the job specifics. The final step was a chat with the VP of Engineering. Got the offer the day after. The whole thing was really smooth and the people were great.

I got a call from HR a few weeks after applying. After that, I cleared 3 one-hour tech rounds, with each one being on a shared coding pad or screen share. It took them 3 weeks to get back to me, but then they quickly scheduled 2 more phone tech interviews because I had a deadline. After that, I got to speak with the VP and received an offer the same day. Everyone I interviewed with was really nice and made me feel comfortable solving the problems. The HR team was super fast through the whole thing and really friendly. It was a great interview experience with Apigee. I ended up not taking the offer, which was a hard choice. I learned a lot and it seems like a great place to work.
