The final round was the third interview. The first two (screening and R2) were straightforward and enjoyable, using the STAR method as suggested by the APCO site. R2 had two interviewers, one of whom was the person whose role this position would replace. The two interviewers in R3 expected an almost perfect recall for what they considered a good STAR response, but they didn't provide much detail in return when I asked my own questions. I also sent them additional questions later, as they encouraged me to and mentioned nobody had ever taken them up on the offer, but I didn't get a response.
The hiring process was quite structured and ran smoothly. I was kept in the loop about what to expect next. The HR person gave me details about the company, its performance, and what they're looking for in this role.
A call with the recruiter kicked things off, followed by individual meetings with the people on the team, and the direct supervisor. All of the calls happened online in 2022 over Zoom. Scheduling the calls took some time because the recruiters were really busy.
