AOL Software Engineer interviews, decoded.

I was first hired as a contract-to-hire for 6 months before becoming a full-time employee, so the interview questions were probably a lot easier than for someone interviewing for a full-time position. The process involved: 1. Contracting company recruiter talk 2. Phone screen from AOL 3. Onsite interview, with 3 rounds.

Started with a recruiter call for a background check. Then had a phone interview that included basic algorithm questions. The final stage was a tough 6-hour onsite interview in Palo Alto, where I was even asked algorithm questions during lunch.

I was contacted by a recruiter, then had an initial phone interview with the manager. After that, I met with the whole team, one by one, and they asked me questions about technical stuff and how I work. Then, I had a 30-minute chat with someone called a cultural ambassador. Finally, I got the offer!
