I had 12 interviews with managers and cultural ambassadors throughout the company. They were selective and wanted a positive and qualified employee on their team, which is why there were so many interviews.
I had an initial chat with a recruiter from AOL. Then, I went through 2 informal phone interviews with the hiring manager. After that, I had an onsite interview that lasted about 4-5 hours and involved meeting with 5 people. The majority of the questions were related to the job function. There was also a really strange cultural ambassador interview. They said the questions would be about AOL culture, but the person basically told me she didn't think I'd fit in and didn't ask many questions. Honestly, that interview made me question if I even wanted to work at AOL.
It was a multi-faceted and thorough process. I got to check out the office, meet the team, learn more about the role, and get a feel for the company culture. The process was a bit lengthy because I met with over 10 different people across several phases.
