It was a pretty standard interview. I scheduled a time, made sure I looked presentable, and went in. They gave me an overview of how the store operates and the day-to-day of the role. I made sure to be positive and friendly, and I also mentioned my interest in fashion.
I learned about the job from someone who worked there, so I sent my resume over email. It took about three weeks to hear back, but then I got a call. The first step was an individual meeting with the manager. Then, I came back for a second session with a group and a different manager. We had to do a fashion assessment where we had to pick an outfit from the clothes available on the floor and present it for critique within ten minutes. This was a bit tricky because the plus-sized options were limited and didn't fit well. A tip for those who aren't super stylish: they really like bold statement necklaces, especially the big pearl ones they always have. They also use the word 'chic' a lot.
Went to the interview feeling pretty good. They asked me some questions about what I could contribute and why I was interested in the company, and also about my personal style. After that, the manager explained what they were looking for, and I actually got a call back the same day!
