I think I did great in the interview, but a week later I got rejected. I asked for feedback, and they said I didn't use the STAR method for one question, even though it wasn't even a situational question. I feel it was unfair because I answered that question well, and it shouldn't have disqualified me.
The interview was good and easy. It was competency based and then we did a small role play of a telephone conversation with a customer. The interviewer was friendly and seemed happy with my answers.
The interview started off nice and friendly, giving a good impression of the company. However, a potential issue was revealed: the company is aware of its busy periods, typically when a specific type of bill is sent out. They hire new staff on 'annualised hours' during these busy times, which can lead to working 10-11 hour days consecutively. Although they claim this is offset by shorter shifts the following month, it seems like a way to get new employees to work excessive hours.
