Had a really basic introductory phone chat with the recruiter. Then, a few days later, I had a technical phone interview with the hiring manager. It was super straightforward, no curveballs. They told me I was overqualified but then rejected me because another applicant's qualifications were a better match. It's confusing how I could be overqualified but still rejected for not matching well enough. They didn't give me a clear reason for the rejection.
The interview was great. I had a pre-screen interview with the recruiter, and then a call back from the hiring manager. The process was very welcoming and the hiring manager made me feel at ease. Fairly casual conversation discussing my background and experience.
Got an email shortly after applying. Had a first phone chat, and they said I'd get another call to see if we'd move forward. Never got that call. After two weeks, I emailed for an update or to see if they needed anything else. The HR person didn't reply at all. Super unprofessional.
