Got an email about 20 minutes before a phone interview was supposed to happen to say they'd hired someone internally. Felt like really bad communication, especially for a communications job. Left me hanging.
I talked to two recruiters and it was nice, they were friendly and knew their stuff. Then, I had a local interview which was a bad experience. Three young women were on the panel and they talked about themselves for 20 minutes of the 30. It felt like I was trying to get on the high school prom committee. I didn't feel good about the job or working for the Red Cross afterwards. It was disappointing because I have corporate experience and was excited to join a great team. I hope they don't call me back.
I saw a position listed and thought it was the ideal position for me based on my background. I applied online and received an email back asking me to elaborate on one of my experiences. Then we spoke on the phone. I mentioned someone we knew in common, but to this day I don't know if that was a good idea. I never heard back. Be careful that you are not associating yourself with anyone that your potential employer had a bad experience with. I should have asked the person first before mentioning their name.
