Candidate-reported interview process

I had an initial screening call with the HR recruiter, but they were late sending the Zoom link. After a week of emails, we finally had the call. It was very easy and I was moved to the second stage, which was a 2-on-1 interview. The interviewer was complimentary and said my answers were 'huge.' I was told I'd hear back the following week, but didn't. Five weeks later, I contacted HR for an update and found out the position was open again. I emailed the HR recruiter and was told they hired someone else, which was very disappointing given the role is still open. I expected better from a company like Amex, and it felt like a waste of my time.

First there was a screening with HR, which was a really nice and professional chat. Then I had a 1-hour interview with the hiring manager, and after that, there were 2 more interviews with the team. I was pretty surprised by how the hiring manager interview went, considering how pleasant the HR chat was. The conversation felt cold, and I got the vibe she wasn't really into doing the interview or any interviews at all. She just asked a bunch of pre-written competency questions and didn't ask any follow-ups or anything else.

The interview process was well-organized and informative with great communication. Even though I didn't get the job, they provided excellent after-care service, which is something I haven't experienced in other interviews.
