Candidate-reported interview process

This was honestly one of the worst interview processes I've been through. I got through multiple rounds and even made it to the final stage. After everything was done, I got an email saying the job was on 'freeze.' It was super blindsiding because there was no real communication or transparency. I definitely won't be applying here again.

I applied for this job through a posting on our university jobboard. The first step was an initial phone interview with HR. After that, I was flown to Pittsburgh for an interview with a buyer and then to participate in a 2-day interview program. There were about 2-3 dozen candidates. The two days involved rounds of interviews back-to-back in a hotel meeting room, with about 10 other candidates being interviewed at the same time at different tables. There was also a meet-and-greet with the buyers at happy hour. It felt a lot like a sorority rush event. Just so you know, the company isn't very diverse. Most of the employees are from Pittsburgh and/or the University of Pittsburgh.

It started with a basic HR phone interview, followed by several one-on-one interviews. If I passed those, there was a "super day" event at their Pittsburgh headquarters. This 3-day process involved presentations, challenges, and group interviews.
