Ambient.ai Software Engineer interviews, decoded.

So the process started with 2 coding rounds, each an hour long. The first one was all about algorithms and data structures, making sure the code was clean, efficient, and handled edge cases, done on an online IDE. The second coding round had more coding problems or real-world stuff, maybe testing OOP, APIs, or multi-threading. Then there was a Design Round, also an hour, where I had to design a system like a URL shortener or a chat app, talking about the architecture, scaling, and trade-offs. Finally, a Manager Round, which was more like an informal chat about my experience, projects, and goals, possibly with some behavioral questions to see if I'd fit in.

The interview process is terrible, starting with misleading information and a mismatch in skill assessment during technical interviews. It involves five stages, and the overall journey isn't clearly defined, even when I asked for timelines. They tend to leave you in the dark or don't respond, which shows a lack of professionalism.

I applied online . The process took 2 to 3 weeks. I interviewed at Ambient in Oct 2023. I gave 6 rounds of interview and all were good but they rejected me. So if you have free time then you can think about it otherwise don't entertain Ambient. Worst experience.
