Amazon Web Services Engineer interviews, decoded.

This was a 60-minute technical interview for a managerial role. It felt more like a verbal exam with a Q&A format, expecting applicants to explain things like scholars for a practical job. Many questions seemed unrelated to my resume and used specific acronyms that didn't really measure anything.

The Amazon interview was tough but worth it. It really focused on their 16 Leadership Principles, and I had to give specific examples with data. Using the STAR method was super helpful to explain things clearly. You gotta prepare a bunch of different stories showing ownership and customer obsession.

I went through a 3-hour interview loop with three back-to-back sessions. Each session had a mix of technical and behavioural questions. The interviewers were good, the process was structured, and I felt comfortable. They asked deep questions about my hands-on experience, how I solve problems, and real-world scenarios. Behavioural questions were like STAR format, checking ownership, teamwork, and handling tough situations. It was tough but good, testing both technical skills and leadership.
